Services

I feel confident in my ability to address many of the struggles that create obstacles for people in their lives. I work with the impact on functioning from difficult families or childhoods, shame reduction, recent and historic trauma, healthy boundaries, stress and anxiety management, post-sobriety addiction recovery, and struggles with mood, like anxiety and depression. I will highlight some specifics below:

Trauma and Attachment Treatment/EMDR

My education, experience and training helps clients to address issues related to trauma, including sexual, emotional, spiritual, and physical abuse, as well as neglect and acute traumatic events. Additionally, I address neglect and deprivation using a variety of modalities. I am a Level II EMDR trained clinician and have been incorporating this method into my therapy practice since 2003. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is a method of psychotherapy that has been proven effective for the treatment of trauma. I have also been trained in Flash EMDR, which has been shown to be very effective for many of my clients. To learn more, click here.

I am considered a Meadows trained therapist, trained directly by Pia Mellody in Post-Induction Therapy. Pia Mellody is a world renowned pioneer in the areas of codependence, boundaries, and the effects of childhood trauma and dysfunctional families on emotional development.

I have worked with attachment from the very beginning and have extensive experience in addressing attachment wounds and assisting my clients in reclaiming hope, meaning, individuation and connection.

I also incorporate supportive practices such as meditation, experiential work, expressive arts, and Reiki, which are offerings that can regulate the nervous system and heighten a sense of well-being.

Shame Reduction, Attachment and Reparenting Self

I am passionate about treating the underlying shame and low self esteem that is the root of so many of our struggles as humans. We are wired for attachment and healing and coping with our attachment wounds is foundational to going forward. I began running a shame reduction group in 1999 and have incorporated healing from shame into my work from the beginning. Freedom from these prisons allows us to thrive in our lives and relationships, and establish healthy boundaries to flow from the authentic self that emerges. Learn more.

Face-to-Face Video Therapy

The data is in and online therapy has become a viable personal and effective way to do in-depth psychotherapy and trauma work. I create a safe, connected environment in which you can continue to deepen your healing while having the flexibility, convenience and accessibility needed to make the ongoing commitment. The psyche and the person extend, they are not limited to rooms and do not require physical presence to connect. I have been doing online therapy for a while now and I, and my clients, have found that once you’ve tried it, you forget you’re online and it feels real and just as intimate as being in person. I have successfully conducted EMDR therapy, Flash Technique and other therapies using this online venue. Stanley the cat may even join us as he considers himself essential to the work.

Jungian Informed Depth Work

This approach is for those wanting to explore the deeper layers of consciousness from a Jungian and psychoanalytic perspective via dream work, art, meditation and psychoanalytic psychotherapy. We often carry the answers within ourselves.
